Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin kent insanına sunulan hizmetlerin kalitesini artırmak, vatandaş memnuniyetini kazanmak ve kent yönetimini kolaylaştırmak için hayata geçirdiği Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi, İzmir’de düzenlenecek olan Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri Kongresi’nde tanıtılacak
Büyükşehir Belediyesi tarafından bir süre önce uygulamaya geçen Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi’nin Kocaeli’deki işleyişi Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri Kongresi’nde tanıtılacak. Kocaeli’nde yönetim ve planlama sorunlarının çözülebilmesi için coğrafi konumu belirlenmiş bir yerin toplanması ile oluşturulan sistem ülke genelinde de ilgi gördü. İzmir’de yapılacak kongre bugün başlayacak ve 6 Kasım Cuma günü sona erecek. Kongrede sistemin Kocaeli’ndeki uygulamaları tanıtılacak.
İZMİR TEPEKULE’DE
İzmir Tepekule Kongre ve Sergi Merkezi’nde gerçekleştirilen kongreye Çevre ve Orman Bakanlığı, Tapu ve Kadastro Genel Müdürlüğü gibi kamu kurum ve kuruluşları, birçok belediyenin ilgili birimleri, üniversite yetkilileri ve üst düzey bilim adamları katılacak. “Kamu Yönetiminde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri Uygulamalarında Kocaeli Örneği” başlığı altında yapılacak sunum Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Strateji Geliştirme Daire Başkanlığı tarafından izleyicilere aktarılacak.

Loudoun Launches Online Contest to Promote Geography Awareness November 13, 2009

While today’s youth may be too young to remember the criminal mastermind Carmen San Diego popping up in locations around the globe wearing her red trench coat, today Loudoun residents can play a more local version of the game with the Loudoun County Teddy Bear.
To celebrate Geography Awareness Week, Loudoun County launches its third annual online contest, “Where’s Teddy in Loudoun County?”
The contest will let community members explore the geography of the county and learn more about the community. From Saturday, Nov. 14, through Tuesday, Dec. 1, there will be a number of photos posted at www.loudoun.gov/gis of a Loudoun County teddy bear pictured at various locations throughout the county. Guess as many of the locations as you can, being as specific as possible about each location, and e-mail your answers to mapping@loudoun.gov by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 1. The winners will be notified by e-mail the week of Dec. 1.
